Is using tape for a clearer view really useful?
If you’ve ever asked for any tips on using Jigsaw blades, especially to get a clearer view, you might have been told to use tape in order to get a more accurate cut. You can use tape by applying it to the material that you’re going to cut, and mark with a pen or pencil the specific line you’re going to cut. It’s best to use a bright colour tape so you can clearly see the pen or pencil marking.
Using tape is only useful if you’re using a bright colour and have a clear marking of where you want to cut. The tape also has to be completely flat with no creases or slack; otherwise, the tape can end up moving while you’re cutting and essentially ruin your cut. Using tape is exceptionally useful if done correctly, because you can see exactly where you’re cutting and you can’t lose the blade in your cut.
